Navy Body Composition Assessment
Navy BCA Calculator
Estimate your Navy Body Composition Assessment using the current 2026 two-step BCA process.
Current Guide-4 uses height, weight, and one waist measurement at the navel — the old neck/hip circumference method is no longer the current Navy BCA process.
2026 two-step BCA
Navy Body Composition Assessment Calculator
Enter sex, height, weight, and waist circumference. The calculator first checks Waist-to-Height Ratio, then estimates Step-2 body fat only when the WHtR screen is not met.
Your Step-1 WHtR screen and, when needed, Step-2 body-composition estimate will appear here.
Current policy
2026 Navy BCA Standards
The current JUN 2026 Guide-4 requires height, waist, and weight to be collected for every Sailor. The BCA is then evaluated through a two-step process.
Waist divided by height, rounded down to the fourth decimal place.
Maximum allowable Step-2 estimated body-fat percentage for males.
Maximum allowable Step-2 estimated body-fat percentage for females.

How to Measure for the Navy BCA
Official measurements must follow Navy procedures. For a home estimate, use the same locations and rounding direction as closely as possible.
Measure without shoes on a flat surface. Official height is rounded up to the nearest half inch.
Measure bare skin at the umbilicus / belly button, tape horizontal and snug without compressing tissue. Official waist is rounded down to the nearest half inch.
Official weight is measured in Navy PTU/OPTU without shoes and rounded to the nearest whole pound; 0.5 lb or more rounds up.
Result meaning
What Your Navy BCA Result Means
Passing Step 1 completes the BCA screening; Step 2 is not required. If Step 1 is not met, Step 2 compares the sex-specific body-fat estimate against the 26% male or 36% female limit.
Because official Step-2 outcomes are table/PRIMS based, this independent page treats Step-2 values close to the limit as Verify Official Table rather than presenting false precision.
Additional questions
Navy BCA Calculator FAQ
Is this Navy BCA calculator official?
No. Official BCA measurements are conducted by certified CFLs and trained ACFLs and recorded through Navy processes.
Can I use home measurements to estimate my BCA?
Yes for planning, but home tape placement, posture, breathing, and rounding can differ from an official measurement.
Does age affect the 2026 Navy BCA calculation?
The current Guide-4 Step-1 is age- and sex-neutral. Step-2 body-fat limits are sex-specific, not age-based.
Do I still need neck or hip measurements?
Not under the current JUN 2026 Guide-4 process. The current BCA collects height, waist, and weight.
Can I pass the BCA after missing the WHtR standard?
Yes. A Sailor who does not meet Step 1 proceeds to Step 2 and can still be Within Standards if the sex-specific body-fat result is within the allowed limit.
What happens if my measurements fall outside the published body-fat tables?
Guide-4 instructs commands to enter the raw measurements in PRIMS, which calculates the official BF% for values outside the public table limits.
Where can I find the current 2026 Navy BCA guidance?
Use the MyNavyHR Physical Readiness page and the current Guide-4 Body Composition Assessment document.
